Citizen Delegation Exchanges

Since 2006, there have been delegation visits between Golden Courage International - Beijing and U.S., with numerous citizens and volunteers from both countries participating in the visits. Please see the Travels in China page for a detailed Travelogue of each step of the journey of delegation members to China.

Dr. Pang and Dr. Lu Sr., the Senior Volunteers of Golden Courage International- Beijing travelled to the U.S. each year since 2006 representing the China programs to the U.S. volunteers. Dr. Lu Sr. is the highly distinguished former Dean of the Academy of Traditional Chinese Opera and Dr. Pang is the most highly recognized physician in China, carrying the Lu family legacy of healers forward into this generation. To have their presence in the U.S. has been an important aspect of the exchange process.

Roger Newton, the Chairman of the Golden Courage Board of Directors, traveled with his wife, Coco, and their three children, Russell, Carrie, and Alex to China in the summer of 2007. It is the Esperance Family Foundation of the Newton Family that has so generously provided resources for the programs and children of Golden Courage International. Read more

Our largest delegation of U.S. volunteers committed to the vision of Golden Courage International visited Beijing in October 2008. Delegation members included: Dr. Rebecca Liu; Laura and Jeremy Seligman; Cathy Goldberg; Jean Chorazyczewski; Donna Kellstrom; Meredith Maislin. Matt Hallenborg, a Golden Courage volunteer, participated as a videographer and created the Golden Courage documentary of the visit. Rebecca Liu met the 3 Golden Courage girls who were her "sponsored" children; Laura and Jeremy met their "Little Artist" and Cathy Goldberg and Meredith Maislin met the promising and creative boy, Leonardo, who they chose to sponsor for his future education. The two week delegation visit enabled each participant to better understand the transformational role of Golden Courage within the Chinese system of education and to learn more about Chinese culture, music, history, food, and way of life.
