Li, 11
Li's smile radiates hope, despite her situation. Li’s parents have full-blown AIDS, having sold their blood in the early 1990s to pay bills. Li, 11, is the youngest of four children. Her older siblings have joined the floating population, and she had planned to join them before Golden Courage International found her. We secured an ID card for her and began paying for her parents' medications. Li is now able to focus on school and making a better life for herself. She told Dr. Luke: "People told me you were the bringer of hope. It is a good thing … to have hope."
